Description:

The 7912 was a combination quarter-inch tape drive and 65 Mb hard disc. The 7912 had the CS/80 command structure and came standard with an HP-IB interface. The 7912P came in a stand-alone mini cabinet. The 7912R was normally mounted in a 19-inch rack. The 7911 was also introduced in 1982. It was priced at $14,500 and offered a hard disc capacity of 28.1 Mb. The 7914 was introduced in 1983. It was priced at $19,900 and offered a hard disc capacity of 132.1 Mb.

The 7914TD was introduced in 1983. This unit consisted of a full-height, 19-inch rack housing a 132 Mb hard disc and a 7970E half inch tape drive. The 7914ST replaced the 7914TD in 1984 and was priced at $26,495. This unit consisted of a full-height, 19-inch rack housing a 132 Mb hard disc and a 7974A half inch tape drive. An additional 7914R (disc drive only) could be mounted in either the 7914TD or 7914ST. The 7914CT was introduced in 1986 and combined the 132 Mb hard disc from the 7914 with a 9144A tape drive mounted in the pedestal cabinet.
